Before I came to Portugal I lived in China for some years and worked as a teacher.
Every year I needed to have my health checked and every year I had the same problem.
I gave the clerk at the hospital my papers and my passport.
She looked through the papers and then at my passport.
She looked at the passport, and she looked at me!
She looked at the passport and read
She looked at me AGAIN
and she looked again at the passport.
Then she said:
Your passport is fake!
What!
No, my passport is not fake, I told her.
Yes it must be, she said and looked again at me and then at my passport and again at me.
You can not be THAT old, she told me and I was beginning to be a tiny bit pissed off.
Luckily I had authorities from the university with me and they could tell the clerk I was really that OLD .
This crossed my mind yesterday when I was thinking about age and how different people look and think even though they have the same years behind them.
It can be a problem, a tiny one, if you don´t look your age or what people want you to look like!
When I come to my doctors here in Portugal and they look at me, it takes some time to explain my health!!!
Enjoying looking young is my privilege and I am going to enjoy it as long as possible.
Maybe you could also look at your age and be happy about it instead of sad!
